Welcome to the University of Phoenix® College of Security and Criminal Justice. Like you, we are passionate about the safety and security of our communities, and we believe that a solid educational foundation is critical to lead in a world where justice, service and security grow more challenging every day.
I’m the new guy here! My name is Spider Marks, executive dean, College of Security and Criminal Justice, and a retired Army General. I’ve seen firsthand, in global hot spots, where justice and security are ignored, local societies suffer. Where education is neglected, economies struggle. We are blessed as students, faculty members and administrators here at the College of Security and Criminal Justice to make a significant impact in our lives and in the lives of others. Our focus on service will make a difference and set an example for others.
Our leadership- and management-focused curricula are developed and taught by faculty with experience in the specialized fields we serve. Whether you are interested in government, criminal justice or private industry security, your education will bring together theory and real-life experiences of industry leaders, including chiefs of police, district attorneys, wardens and security industry executives.
You may already work in one of these demanding fields, and we appreciate the significance of your daily responsibilities. That’s why we design our programs with your career aspirations and schedule in mind. University of Phoenix has served working professionals for more than 30 years with flexible, interactive courses that let you achieve your goals on your time. Additionally, some relevant experience may be applied toward college credits so you can focus on the skills you need to enhance your career.
I salute your commitment to serve and your ambition to achieve, and I sincerely hope that you’ll choose us to help you reach your goals.
